Welcome!
I heartily acknowledge that I live and work on the ancestral homelands of the Coast Salish Peoples, the Lhaq'temish (Lummi) Nation and Noxwsʼáʔaq (Nooksack) Tribe, who have lived in the Salish Sea basin from time immemorial. I would like to express my deepest respect, gratitude, and appreciation for our Indigenous neighbors for their protection and care of our shared lands and waterways.
About
I am a geochemistry research associate at the Western Washington University Geology Department where I assist and train LA-ICP-MS users as well as teach a variety of geology courses. My research utilizes microanalysis of minerals and glasses in volcanic rocks to decipher magma origins, which magmatic processes are prevalent at different volcanic centers, how interconnected magma reservoirs are, and how igneous systems evolve over time. You are encouraged to contact me if you have any questions about my research, are interested in collaborating (including postdocs!), or are a student interested in igneous geochemistry research. You can also contact me through ResearchGate. When not doing science, I enjoy hiking, roller derby, and growing plants. My pronouns are she/her/hers.
Thanks for stopping by!
Education
PhD, University of Auckland, New Zealand, Geology, 2020
MSc, Western Washington University, USA, Geology, 2015
BSc & BA, University of Nevada - Las Vegas, USA, Geoscience & Anthropology, 2012
